Effects of anxiety and social support levels on the prenatal attachment of pregnant women with preeclampsia

Purpose: This study was carried out to determine the effect of social support and anxiety levels pregnant women diagnosed with preeclampsia (PE) on prenatal attachment. Materials Methods: The a descriptive case-control design conducted 313 (PE=101, control=212). data were collected by using personal information form, Multidimensional Scale Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (SAI-TAI), Prenatal Attachment (PAI). Results: scores MSPSS in PE group found be lower than control while SAI higher group. A positive significant relationship between total mean score PAI both control. Conclusion: has demonstrated that preeclamptic experience more need support. It also shown is effective increasing binding healthy women. therefore recommended for health care professionals evaluate anxiety, support, at risk especially those being followed-up clinic during antenatal follow-ups.
